The position emphasizes preventive and corrective maintenance, with duties spanning carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical and general repairs as needed. Strong communication and reliability are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of five (5) years full-time maintenance, construction or related experience.
• Knowledge of maintenance techniques and procedures, including reading electrical prints and diagrams.
• Ability to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely.
• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.

Responsibilities

• Summary: The Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance work with moderate latitude for exercising individual knowledge and technical skill.
• Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Surveys assigned jobs and ensures materials and tools are on hand to complete work.
• Coordinates work, provides technical assistance and inspects detainee maintenance staff work.
• Performs preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance.
• Operates equipment and machinery related to assigned area.
• May perform carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, minor construction and repairs as needed.
• Maintains records of repairs.
• Assists in maintaining security of assigned detainees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
