Job summary

GEO Reentry Services LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee maintenance activities at a correctional facility. You will supervise technicians and resident workers, conduct inspections, estimate repair costs, and ensure preventive maintenance for safety equipment and systems.

You will log maintenance activities, prepare progress reports, and coordinate repair orders while training staff to maintain operations integrity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical trade or college‑level courses are highly desirable.
• Three (3) years experience in general maintenance including electricity, HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical and carpentry.
• Must be able to perform the work associated with a Maintenance Technician.
• Candidate needs to be self-motivated and able to prioritize work assignments.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in leading or supervising staff.
• Valid, active driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance activities at your facility.
• Identify maintenance needs and supervise maintenance technicians and/or resident workers.
• Conduct inspections to determine repair needs and estimate costs.
• Schedule preventive maintenance for safety equipment and systems.
• Maintain logs of pending and completed maintenance activities.
• Prepare reports on department progress and operations.
• Assign and inspect work of maintenance personnel.
• Coordinate repair orders and equipment records.
• Log and control dispensing of tools used in maintenance activities.
• Initiate subordinate training and conduct regular meetings to ensure operational integrity.
