Job summary

Cochise County is seeking an Equipment Operator / Truck Driver at the Western Regional Landfill, WHETSTONE. The role requires operating a wide range of vehicles and heavy equipment and performing related maintenance and reporting duties.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of equipment operation experience, hold a valid Arizona Class A CDL (or obtain one within five months), and pass post-offer background screening and drug testing. Safety is a priority.

Qualifications

• One year of experience operating equipment in construction or a related field.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Class A CDL (or obtain within 5 months).
• Post-offer background screening and pre-employment drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of equipment, including large vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Performs operator-level maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Prepare reports and support roadways, right of ways, and flood control structures.
• May supervise a small crew including inmates.
