Job summary

The Hawaii State Department of Education is seeking Educational Assistants I–III to provide paraprofessional support in classrooms across the district. You will tutor students, assist with social and daily living skills, and support counseling and speech articulation activities under supervision.

Applicants must have ParaPro/ParaPathways certification or 48 college credits including 3 in math and 3 in English, and an associate degree or higher. Salary ranges are listed per level and are monthly.

Qualifications

• Certification or test required as approved by Hawaii Department of Education (ParaPro/ParaPathways).
• At least 48 baccalaureate-level credits including 3 in mathematics and 3 in English.
• An associate degree or higher from an accredited institution recognized by the Department.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs instructional support and tutoring as directed by the teacher and reports on student progress.
• Provides social, vocational, and daily living instruction to students with disabilities in school/community settings.
• Engages in counseling support; helps students express problems and develops healthy self-concepts and social skills.
• Delivers articulation reinforcement lessons and drills under speech pathologist guidance.
