Job summary

Duke University Health System’s Duke Urgent Care is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support a float pool across locations in Durham, NC. The CMA will perform clinical and administrative duties, assist clinicians, and help ensure smooth clinic operations.

Open 8am–5pm, with travel up to 55 miles for assignments. Requires CMA certification and BLS; Level I–III education paths are recognized. Relocation assistance may be offered based on eligibility.

Qualifications

• Level I -- Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred.
• Level II -- Graduation from CMA program with recognized credentials.
• Level III -- CMA program completion strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephones and schedule appointments.
• Update and file patient records and insurance forms.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Take patient histories and record vital signs.
• Prepare patients for X-rays and laboratory tests.
• Administer medications as directed by physician.
