Job summary

Duke Health in Durham, NC seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to support our urgent care team as part of the Float Pool. You will perform routine clinical and administrative tasks to keep the clinic running smoothly while traveling to assignments within ~55 miles.

The role requires graduation from an accredited CMA program, certification, and BLS, with a Monday–Friday 8am–5pm schedule. This travel position offers exposure to diverse clinics in a collaborative health system.

Qualifications

• CMA certification required from an accredited program.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required for all levels.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephones and greet patients.
• Update and file patient records and schedule appointments.
• Take vitals and assist with exams.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures; assist physician.
• Draw blood and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Prepare medications as directed and handle prescriptions when needed.
