Job summary

Duke Urgent Care in Durham, NC seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to join the float pool, supporting clinical and administrative tasks in a fast-paced setting. You will assist physicians, take histories and vital signs, draw blood, and prepare patients for exams while maintaining accurate records.

Open 8am–5pm Monday through Friday; travel up to 55 miles for assignments. This role requires CMA certification and BLS; level II/III experience is welcomed but not required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is strongly preferred.
• Completion of a CMA program accredited by CAAHEP/ABHES is strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephones and greet patients; update and file records; schedule appointments.
• Assist medical and nursing staff during examinations; take histories and vital signs; draw blood; prepare patients for tests and procedures.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed; handle patient education and documentation in the medical record.
