Job summary

Southend Pharmacy is seeking a Verification Pharmacist to ensure clinical accuracy and regulatory compliance of compounded medications before dispensing. The role collaborates with technicians and leadership to uphold patient safety in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has a Pharm.D.

or B.S. in Pharmacy with an active Texas license and at least four years of pharmacist experience in relevant settings.

Qualifications

• Pharm.D. or B.S. in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited school is required.
• Active, unrestricted Texas Pharmacist License in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
• Minimum of four years of licensed pharmacist experience in high-volume settings.
• Strong knowledge of USP standards, DEA requirements, and HIPAA.
• Ability to verify prescriptions accurately while maintaining productivity.

Responsibilities

• Perform final pharmacist verification of compounded prescriptions prior to dispensing.
• Verify orders for clinical appropriateness, dosage accuracy, and labeling requirements.
• Review medications for compliance with USP standards, state/federal regulations, and SOPs.
• Maintain complete documentation including MFRs, batch records and quality documentation.
• Collaborate with technicians to maintain efficient workflow and high quality standards.
• Provide clinical guidance to technicians on processing, regulatory requirements, and quality expectations.
• Participate in quality improvement and workflow optimization projects.
