UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Verification Authorization Coordinator to support home health and hospice services. You will verify patient eligibility, obtain required authorizations, and coordinate with private insurers and other payors to ensure accurate reimbursement.

This role requires attention to detail, familiarity with insurance terminology, and prior medical office or benefit verification experience. The position offers competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Competenze

• 2+ years of experience in medical office/home health benefit verification or billing.
• Knowledge of commercial insurance carriers’ guidelines and criteria of verification, authorization, and reimbursement.
• Familiarity with insurance billing and terminology.

Mansioni

• Review referral information for accuracy in the EMR system.
• Obtain authorizations when required while maintaining confidentiality.
• Obtain authorizations from private insurance and other payors via phone, fax, or online.
• Gather information from agencies to assist with authorizations and reauthorizations.
• Assist departments and Care Centers in collecting client and payor information.
• Enter patient benefit and authorization data into the EMR system.
• Respond to calls and emails regarding status of referrals or authorizations.
• Provide administrative support as needed.
• Complete Payor Information Form and Payor Change Request Forms.
• Update Contracting Coordinator of payor information changes.
• Communicate efficiently to resolve verification/authorization issues.
• Access Medicare CWF to verify eligibility if applicable.
• Update Admissions Operations Manager/Director on team efficiencies and system problems.
• Comply with policies and regulatory mandates including the Compliance Program.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
