Job summary

Axiom Space is seeking a Verification and Validation engineer to lead verification planning for the Space Station program. This on-site role at the SSDF facility involves coordinating V&V activities across engineering teams and suppliers, and presenting verification plans to management and customers.

The candidate will have 9+ years in engineering with 3+ years in V&V, strong writing and communication skills, and experience with systems engineering processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline; 9+ years engineering experience with at least 3 years in V&V or equivalent.
  • Experience across the full verification life cycle from concept to close-out; NASA human spaceflight or spacesuit testing is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture of complex programs.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills for senior stakeholders and technical audiences.
  • Start-up experience is a plus; INCOSE CSEP is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement verification and validation activities for spacesuits.
  • Define verification approaches, requirements, and allocate verifications to activities.
  • Plan and coordinate implementation and close-out; draft closure notices.
  • Define and manage integrated V&V plans, procedures, and schedules across engineering teams.
  • Coordinate verification requirements with suppliers as part of the V&V plan.
  • Collaborate with space station engineers, program office, and customers for V&V planning and execution.
  • Prepare verification plans and presentations for peers, management, and external customers.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for an energetic and dynamic Verification and Validation who will primarily be responsible for developing verification plans for the Axiom Space Station program. This position reports to SE&I Test and V&V Functional Manager. This role is onsite and will be based at our SSDF facility.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, coordinate, and implement spacesuit verification and validation activities, including:

  • Defining system, subsystem, and component verification approaches
  • Defining verification requirements
  • Allocating verifications to verification activities
  • Planning and coordinating implementation of activities
  • Draft closure notice to perform verification close-out
  • Define and manage integrated Verification & Validation (V&V test plans, procedures, and schedules across all engineering teams
  • Define and coordinate verification requirements for suppliers as part of the integrated V&V plan
  • Collaborate with space station system and subsystem engineers, program office personnel, and customers for V&V planning, scheduling and execution
  • Prepare verification plans and presentations for peers, management, and external customers and partners
  • Capture evidence from completed verification activities to create verification closure notices and coordinate requirement close-out
  • Perform other systems engineering tasks as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering (aerospace, electrical, mechanical, or related discipline)
  • A minimum of 9+ years engineering experience with a minimum of 3 years in V&V or a combined equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in the full verification life cycle from concept, to planning, coordination, execution, and close-out activities
  • Experience with NASA human spaceflight programs desired, with related experience in the testing of spacecraft, spacesuits, space vehicles. Experience with Space Suits is preferred
  • A strong attention to detail while appreciating the bigger picture of complex and ambitious projects
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills with experience communicating to senior decision-makers and technical audiences
  • Experience in Start-up organizations a plus
  • INCOSE CSEP preferred
