Job summary

Axiom Space is seeking a bold Verification and Validation Engineer to support the Space Station Systems Engineering and Integration efforts. You will develop verification plans, coordinate across engineering teams, and present verification results to peers and customers.

This role is onsite and based at our SSDF facility. Ideal candidates bring 9+ years in engineering with V&V experience, strong documentation skills, and familiarity with NASA programs and spacesuit testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, electrical, mechanical or related engineering discipline.
• 9+ years of engineering experience with at least 3 years in V&V.
• Experience across full verification lifecycle from concept to close-out.
• NASA human spaceflight program experience is desirable; space suit experience preferred.
• Strong writing and presentation skills with ability to communicate to senior technical audiences.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for an energetic and dynamic Verification and Validation who will primarily be responsible for developing verification plans for the Axiom Space Station program. This position reports to SE&I Test and V&V Functional Manager. This role is onsite and will be based at our SSDF facility.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, coordinate, and implement spacesuit verification and validation activities, including:

• Defining system, subsystem, and component verification approaches

• Defining verification requirements

• Allocating verifications to verification activities

• Planning and coordinating implementation of activities

• Draft closure notice to perform verification close-out

• Define and manage integrated Verification & Validation (V&V test plans, procedures, and schedules across all engineering teams

• Define and coordinate verification requirements for suppliers as part of the integrated V&V plan

• Collaborate with space station system and subsystem engineers, program office personnel, and customers for V&V planning, scheduling and execution

• Prepare verification plans and presentations for peers, management, and external customers and partners

• Capture evidence from completed verification activities to create verification closure notices and coordinate requirement close-out

• Perform other systems engineering tasks as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering (aerospace, electrical, mechanical, or related discipline)

• A minimum of 9+ years engineering experience with a minimum of 3 years in V&V or a combined equivalent combination of education and experience

• Experience in the full verification life cycle from concept, to planning, coordination, execution, and close-out activities

• Experience with NASA human spaceflight programs desired, with related experience in the testing of spacecraft, spacesuits, space vehicles. Experience with Space Suits is preferred

• A strong attention to detail while appreciating the bigger picture of complex and ambitious projects

• Excellent writing and presentation skills with experience communicating to senior decision-makers and technical audiences

• Experience in Start-up organizations a plus

• INCOSE CSEP preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task. May involve support of 24/7 test operations at test facilities.

• This position may require access to export controlled technical data or technology subject to NASA regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). In accordance with U.S. export control laws, final candidates may be required to undergo additional export control screening to determine eligibility for access.
