Job summary

Axiom Space is seeking a bold Verification and Validation Engineer to support Space Station Systems Engineering and Integration. This onsite role reports to the SE&I Test and V&V Functional Manager at our SSDF facility.

You will develop verification plans, define V&V test plans and schedules, coordinate supplier verification activities, and collaborate with engineers, program office personnel, and customers to ensure rigorous verification throughout the life cycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline (aerospace, electrical, mechanical, or related).
  • 9+ years of engineering experience with at least 3 years in verification and validation.
  • Experience across the full verification life cycle from concept to close-out.
  • Experience with NASA human spaceflight programs; space suits experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with big-picture understanding.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills for senior stakeholders.
  • Start-up experience is a plus; INCOSE CSEP preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for an energetic and dynamic Verification and Validation who will primarily be responsible for developing verification plans for the Axiom Space Station program. This position reports to SE&I Test and V&V Functional Manager. This role is onsite and will be based at our SSDF facility.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement spacesuit verification and validation activities, including:

  • Define and manage integrated Verification & V &V test plans, procedures, and schedules across all engineering teams

  • Define and coordinate verification requirements for suppliers as part of the integrated V&V plan

  • Collaborate with space station system and subsystem engineers, program office personnel, and customers for V&V planning, scheduling and execution

  • Prepare verification plans and presentations for peers, management, and external customers and partners

  • Capture evidence from completed verification activities to create verification closure notices and coordinate requirement close-out

  • Perform other systems engineering tasks as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering (aerospace, electrical, mechanical, or related discipline)

  • A minimum of 9+ years engineering experience with a minimum of 3 years in V&V or a combined equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience in the full verification life cycle from concept, to planning, coordination, execution, and close-out activities

  • Experience with NASA human spaceflight programs desired, with related experience in the testing of spacecraft, spacesuits, space vehicles. Experience with Space Suits is preferred

  • A strong attention to detail while appreciating the bigger picture of complex and ambitious projects

  • Excellent writing and presentation skills with experience communicating to senior decision-makers and technical audiences

  • Experience in Start-up organizations a plus

  • INCOSE CSEP preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task. May involve support of 24/7 test operations at test facilities.

Requirements

  • This position may require access to export controlled technical data or technology subject to NASA regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), or ExportAdministration Regulations (EAR). In accordance with U.S. exportcontrol laws, final candidates may be required to undergo additional exportcontrol screening to determine eligibility for access. Meeting these requirements is a condition of employment

  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised

  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones

Physical Requirements

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time)

  • May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time)
