Franklin County Court Of Common Pleas is seeking a Court Reporter to record verbatim court proceedings and prepare accurate transcripts. The role includes labeling exhibits, maintaining records, and filing transcripts for judges while generally serving as an independent contractor on a per-page basis.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree OR Graduate of an accredited Court Reporting Program with a minimum of 225 wpm OR current RPR certification.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a court reporter.
• Employee must provide equipment to produce the transcript; the Court does provide equipment.

Responsabilités

• Make stenographic records of proceedings and label exhibits on request
• Maintain record logbook
• Prepare a per diem to be filed with the Clerk of Courts Office
• Maintain and store exhibits and stenographic electronic notes
• Prepare, edit, review, and file transcript upon request
• Interact with court staff, attorneys, parties, and the public
• Review resources for transcript clarification
• Store electronic notes and transcripts to shared drive
• Create and maintain worksheets for proceedings
• Read back proceedings; search the record as needed
• Create PDF files of documents
• Maintain continuing education for NCRA requirements
• Perform other related duties as required
