Job summary

Escapology Tewksbury seeks a Venue Manager to lead daily operations and deliver a high-energy, welcoming experience for guests and staff at our Merrimack Valley location.

You will recruit, train, coach, and schedule a 10–15 person team, open/close the venue with proper procedures, oversee private events, respond to guest inquiries, and manage reviews while optimizing labor, costs, and inventory.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily venue operations and create a welcoming guest/employee experience.
• Hire, train, coach, schedule, and develop a team of 10–15 employees.
• Open/close venue following security, cash-handling, and safety procedures.
• Ensure shifts are covered and fill call-outs when needed.
• Book and oversee private events from planning through completion.
• Respond to guest inquiries, complaints, emails, calls, and reservations.
• Manage online guest reviews and coach the team on experiences.
• Monitor labor, sales, guest counts, discounts, costs, waste, overtime, etc.
• Maintain inventory and purchase beverages, merchandise, and supplies.
• Keep games and facility operating to Escapology standards.
• Complete basic maintenance and escalate advanced issues.
• Support local marketing events and promote offerings.
• Work with team by game mastering, resetting rooms, serving beverages.

Salary Range: $22.00 - $26.00 Hourly

Job Title: Venue Manager – Escapology Tewksbury

Contract: Full-Time | Quarterly Bonus Potential

What You’ll Do

• Lead daily venue operations and create a fun, welcoming experience for guests and employees.
• Hire, train, coach, schedule, and develop a team of approximately 10–15 employees.
• Address employee performance concerns and administer appropriate disciplinary action with support from Human Resources and the Area Manager.
• Independently open and close the venue while following all security, cash-handling, and safety procedures.
• Ensure shifts are properly covered and step in when call-outs or open shifts cannot otherwise be filled.
• Book, coordinate, and oversee private events from planning through completion.
• Respond to guest questions, complaints, emails, phone calls, and reservation requests.
• Manage online guest reviews and coach the team on creating review-worthy experiences.
• Monitor labor, sales, guest counts, discounts, product costs, waste, overtime, and other operating metrics.
• Maintain inventory and purchase approved beverages, merchandise, cleaning products, event materials, and venue supplies.
• Keep games, props, puzzles, and the overall facility operating at Escapology franchise standards.
• Complete basic maintenance and repairs and elevate advanced technical concerns when necessary.
• Support local marketing events and promote additional games, beverages, merchandise, and private-event opportunities.
• Work alongside the team by game mastering, resetting rooms, assisting guests, and serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• An associate or bachelor’s degree is also preferred but not required.
• Employment is subject to successful completion of a background check and/or CORI screening.
