Job summary

New York Life Ventures is seeking a Senior Associate to join the Investments team in New York. You will drive end-to-end investment processes, evaluate direct and fund opportunities, and manage portfolio performance within a data- and network-driven framework.

The role emphasizes financial discipline, strategic value, and collaboration with NYL stakeholders to uncover opportunities across the portfolio and refine future investment themes.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of experience in private equity, venture capital, or related field.
• Advanced financial modeling and presentation skills using Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience evaluating venture fund opportunities and managing portfolios.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to build differentiated views in fintech/insurtech.
• Proven ability to build relationships with founders, executives, and investors.

Responsibilities

• Source, research, and evaluate companies for potential investment and strategic opportunities.
• Lead evaluation of venture fund opportunities, including diligence, modeling, and referencing.
• Own deal screening and drive due diligence workstreams from initial evaluation through transaction execution.
• Manage assigned portfolio companies and fund relationships post-investment, including performance tracking.
• Build and maintain relationships with founders, executives, and fund general partners.
• Conduct TAM analysis and competitive landscaping to inform investment decisions.
• Develop financial models and analyze company and fund performance metrics.
• Author investment memos and portfolio materials; present to senior leadership.
