New York Life Ventures (NYLV) seeks a Director, Business Development to identify and scale strategic startup partnerships. This hybrid role blends strategy, venture insights, and cross‑functional execution with Legal, Risk, Procurement, and IT to accelerate innovation at New York Life.

You will translate emerging technologies into business value for senior leaders, shape PoC programs, and collaborate with the NYLV investment team to source opportunities.

Qualifications

Six-plus years in a technical, advisory, or related role.
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value for executives.
Experience coordinating multi‑party engagements with cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

Identify, develop, and scale strategic startup partnerships.
Lead cross-functional execution with Legal, Risk, Procurement, IT, and Compliance.
Develop and manage an ongoing portfolio of PoC engagements and pilots.
Provide strategic insights to strengthen investment sourcing and portfolio value creation.
Represent NYLV at innovation events and with external partners.
