Job summary

Standish Management, LLC, is seeking a Management Company Controller to oversee the accounting for the management companies of venture capital and private equity funds across North America.

The role includes onboarding new clients, supervising Accounting staff, managing accounts payable and payroll, reviewing journal entries, and providing monthly or quarterly reporting to Management, while ensuring high-quality client service and collaboration with fund teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
• Four or more years of public and/or private accounting experience.
• Experience with payroll, AP, and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks, Bill.com, and payroll systems.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
• Previous Alternative Investment experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting function for multiple management company clients
• Onboard new clients and implement preferred system platforms and processes
• Supervise Accounting Associates and Senior Accounting Associates
• Manage accounts payable and client expense reporting functions
• Review journal entries, bank reconciliations and supporting work papers
• Process and record payroll
• Provide monthly or quarterly reporting to Management
• Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting process as needed
• Work closely with clients to satisfy ad hoc requests and to provide excellent customer service
• Work closely with Fund Teams to settle intercompany receivables and payables
• Function as the primary contact for clients
