Job summary

Standish Management, LLC is seeking a Management Company Controller to oversee the accounting for the management companies of venture capital and private equity funds across North America. You will manage multiple client accounts and onboard new clients while ensuring accurate financial reporting.

The role requires a bachelor’s in accounting or finance, 4+ years in accounting, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with QuickBooks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 4+ years of public and/or private accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks a plus; Bill.com and payroll systems preferred.
• Ability to work independently and with a team; strong communication skills.
• Experience with client service and problem solving essential.
• Knowledge of intercompany settlements and reporting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting function for multiple management company clients.
• Onboard new clients and implement preferred system platforms and processes.
• Supervise Accounting Associates and Senior Accounting Associates.
• Manage accounts payable and client expense reporting functions.
• Review journal entries, bank reconciliations and supporting work papers.
• Process and record payroll and provide monthly or quarterly reporting.
• Process 1099s and assist with tax compliance.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting as needed.
• Collaborate with clients to meet ad hoc requests with excellent service.
• Coordinate intercompany receivables and payables with Fund Teams.
• Serve as primary contact for clients.
