A leading investment platform seeks a Venture Capital Manager to lead the due diligence process for private investments. Mission
The Venture Capital Manager will lead the end-to-end due diligence process for private investment opportunities, managing a team of analysts and ensuring the production of clear, objective, and data-backed investment reports. This role is critical in enabling high-quality decision-making within the investment committee and across the investor network. The Manager will play a central role in structuring diligence frameworks, coordinating with company founders, and overseeing all supporting documentation required to assess the viability of early-stage ventures.
Responsibilities
Oversee the full lifecycle of investment evaluation, from company onboarding to final funding decision.
Supervise and grow a team of 5–8 Analysts, setting priorities and ensuring high standards of research output.
Guide analysts in conducting deep dives into business models, financial statements, pricing strategies, industry positioning, and market dynamics.
Validate all due diligence outputs and provide structured feedback to ensure clarity, consistency, and analytical rigor.
Investment Research & Analysis
Review and refine investment reports that summarize company profiles, market trends, and competitive analysis.
Evaluate pitch decks, financial projections, and strategic plans to assess investment attractiveness.
Continuously monitor developments in the startup and venture capital ecosystem to inform team research.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Participate in weekly Investment Committee meetings, contributing insights and guiding investment decisions.
Maintain direct communication with startup founders and executive teams during the evaluation process.
Ensure completeness and compliance of all documentation and supporting materials.
Team Development & Operational Oversight
Provide ongoing mentorship and performance feedback to team members.
Troubleshoot bottlenecks and implement process improvements in the diligence workflow.
Contribute to the development of internal research frameworks and best practices.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a management role within venture capital, private equity, or investment analysis.
CFA designation or active pursuit of certification.
Strong command of finance and accounting principles, including US GAAP.
Demonstrated experience leading analytical teams and overseeing investment research.
Excellent written communication skills, particularly in investment writing and technical editing.
Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Preferred Experience
Prior exposure to startup ecosystems, early-stage investments, or deal sourcing.
Experience developing investment theses or working with online investment platforms.
Familiarity with financial modeling, cap table analysis, and exit scenario planning.
