Buchanan in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a mid-level associate to join its private funds practice. The role focuses on representing investors in venture capital investments involving emerging and high-growth companies.

The successful candidate will draft and negotiate investment documents, manage due diligence, and coordinate key stages of the investment process while collaborating with clients, partners, and colleagues across related practice areas.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years PQE in private funds or VC work
• Significant VC investment financing experience
• Experience representing investors or emerging companies
• Experience with private investment funds is advantageous
• Strong drafting, analytical and transaction-management skills

Responsibilities

• Advise investors on venture capital financings involving emerging companies
• Draft, review and negotiate investment and transaction documents
• Manage due diligence and coordinate key stages of the investment process
• Collaborate with clients, partners and colleagues across related practice areas
• Support investors on matters involving private investment funds
• Take increasing responsibility for transactions and client relationships
