Oceans is seeking a self-motivated, AI-native associate to join our team in New York or San Francisco/LA. You enjoy meeting founders in person, building trusted relationships, and sourcing early-stage ventures that fit our thesis.

You will drive deal flow, analyze markets, and engage with builders at events, campuses, and meetups. The role blends hands-on sourcing with technical curiosity and a collaborative mindset in a fast-moving venture environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years in VC, angel investing, venture firm scout, or building your own company.
• Deep relationships within the AI community, trusted ally.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication with young entrepreneurs.
• Mastery of AI tools and agents in personal life.

Responsibilities

• Increase top of funnel pipeline and drive outbound deal flow.
• Sourcing in AI Infrastructure + Application Layer, Space, Robotics, and Spatial Computing.
• Build relationships with young entrepreneurs and connect technically with engineers or researchers.
• Be active at tech events, college campuses, meetups, conferences, and other social activities.
• Help with market analysis and identify growth prospects and competitive dynamics.
• Love hacking on things; comfortable with AI coding tools.

Oceans is seeking a self motivated, AI-native associate to join our team. You have a strong desire to build the next great venture firm, a path to partnership and ready to got the distance to make that happen. In this role you will be sourcing founders. You have already started building trusted relationships with young entrepreneurs in your day to day and enjoy texting, calling, meeting, or engaging at events with brilliant founders in the early stage of building their companies. You are comfortable living in DMs, WhatsApp, Signal and Discords, and you thrive at meetups, on college campuses, hackathons, and entrenched in builder communities. You’re a connector — founders love sharing with you, trust you, and want to talk and spend time with you. Ideally, you are also a hacker and are using AI Coding tools and agents in your own personal life. You love the start up grind, founders are your oxygen, and you love the idea of wearing multiple hats and building a firm. You work hard, move fast, and don’t need someone to tell you what to do. You thrive off meeting people in person - at events and IRL meetings. The role is ideally based in New York or San Francisco/LA.

Responsibilities:

• Deal Flow:

  • Increase top of funnel pipeline and drive outbound and proactive deal flow

  • Sourcing experience within but not limited to the following sectors: AI Infrastructure + Application Layer, Space, Robotics, and Spatial Computing

  • Drive and develop relationships with young entrepreneurs and connect on a technical level with engineering or researchers.

  • Be an active participant in and at tech events, college campuses, meet-ups, tech conferences, dinners and other social activities.

• Market Analysis:

  • Find white spaces that may have no current TAM, not much competition, but have insight as to why it will be the next great area of disruption.

  • Research and Identify growth prospects with respect to the competitive landscape including market dynamics, growth opportunities and incumbent and emerging competitors

  • Help with go forward investment decision analyses and presentations

• Hacker:

  • You love hacking on things and want to go deep on the agentic side

  • Comfort with AI coding tools, proficient in coding

Min Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience working at a venture capital firm, angel investing, venture firm scout, or building your own company.

• Deep relationships within the AI community, known entity in the AI echosystem and known as a trusted ally.

• Great work ethic, hustler, proactive mindset, and fearless

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and ability to connect with young entrepreneurs and build personal friendships

• You have already mastered the use of AI tools and Agents in your own personal life

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to share knowledge within a fast-moving organization

• Aptitude for learning processes, software, and tools quickly - high proficiency of technical ability

• You understand that you may be out or on the road 5 days a week - and that excites you

Preferred Qualifications:

• BA / BS in computer science, business, or entrepreneurship
