Job summary

Caruso Ventures is seeking an AI & Operations Associate to build AI-enabled workflows and production-ready tools across the firm and portfolio companies. The role blends AI, automation, and portfolio operations for a hands-on builder who ships software and drives efficiency.

This in-office position in Boulder, CO requires 4 on-site days per week with one flexible day. Immediate start with occasional after-hours work as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, or a related technical field.
• Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar coding agents to build and deploy full-stack applications from initial concept through production.
• Ability to understand, review, debug, and maintain AI-generated code, with working proficiency in TypeScript or Python, SQL, PostgreSQL/Supabase, relational data modeling, schema design and migrations, APIs, data pipelines, and modern full-stack application architecture.
• Strong product judgement: capable of owning a problem from idea to deployment, balancing technical depth with user needs and operational impact.
• Interest in startups, venture capital, and the evolving AI ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and maintain full-stack applications end to end, including APIs, databases, integrations, and deployment infrastructure.
• Design and implement AI-powered tools to automate tasks and workflows across Caruso Ventures.
• Evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies (LLMs, agents, APIs, workflow tools) that enhance team productivity.
• Build custom dashboards and reporting tools to improve visibility across investments, portfolio performance, and internal operations.
• Own or support the digital systems, data flows, integrations, and reporting used by events and programs.

Caruso Ventures is seeking a technically capable and entrepreneurial AI & Operations Associate to develop and apply AI expertise across our firm and portfolio companies, helping both Caruso Ventures and the founders we back fully leverage AI in their operations, products, and decision-making. This role sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence, automation, and portfolio operations, ideal for a hands-on builder who has shipped and maintained production software and AI-enabled workflows, curious about startups and venture capital, and eager to build tools and processes that make our organization and the ones we support more efficient and insightful. You'll join a small, fast-moving team where your contributions will span from building AI workflows to streamlining internal processes, assisting with firm-wide initiatives (from coordinating events to portfolio analysis), and collaborating with portfolio companies to help them implement AI solutions, optimize workflows, and prototype new tools. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves solving problems with data, code, and creativity. Caruso Ventures, LLC is a growing, entrepreneurial organization operating as a single-family office and tech investment fund. This position is ideal for an independent product-minded builder who can own systems from discovery through deployment, monitoring, and iteration with an interest in both technology and venture capital, someone eager to learn how AI can enhance how a fund sources deals, supports founders, and runs operations.

Responsibilities AI Systems & Workflow Automation

• Build, deploy, and maintain full-stack applications end to end, including the underlying APIs, databases, integrations, and deployment infrastructure
• Design and implement AI-powered tools to automate tasks and workflows across Caruso Ventures, from data collection and analysis to communications and content creation
• Evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies (LLMs, agents, APIs, workflow tools) that enhance team productivity
• Build custom dashboards and reporting tools to improve visibility across investments, portfolio performance, and internal operations

Operations & Efficiency

• Streamline key workflows such as event planning, CRM updates, and information management
• Develop templates, automations, and internal documentation to ensure consistent execution
• Collaborate across teams to identify bottlenecks and propose AI and software driven solutions

Cross-Functional Contributions

• Own or support the digital systems, data flows, integrations, and reporting used by events and programs. Provide launch and on-site technical support when required, in partnership with the program owner.
• Use AI and automation tools to streamline event planning, track RSVPs, generate materials, and manage post-event follow-ups
• Contribute to the creation of content (newsletters, presentations, internal briefings) using AI-assisted tools
• Serve as a resource for AI literacy and experimentation across the organization

Venture & Research Support

• Support deal flow by leveraging AI to research companies, synthesize market trends, and track sector activity
• Prepare internal memos, summaries, and insights to inform investment discussions
• Contribute to data-driven analyses that enhance strategic decision-making
