Job summary

New Jersey Respiratory, Inc. is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care to residents with cardiopulmonary conditions, including ventilator-dependent patients. This PRN, non-exempt position offers flexible hours and exposure to a variety of clinical settings.

You will administer treatments, monitor patient conditions, manage ventilators, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the healthcare team to deliver safe, high-quality care in compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapy license is required.
• RRT or CRT credential preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience with ventilator patients preferred.
• Excellent clinical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions.
• Administer prescribed respiratory therapies including oxygen, bronchodilators, and chest physiotherapy.
• Perform routine and emergency tracheostomy care.
• Monitor and adjust ventilator settings.
• Participate in ventilator weaning protocols.
• Respond to respiratory emergencies and perform CPR as needed.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care.
• Document patient care and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain respiratory equipment and monitor supplies.
• Communicate with healthcare teams and leadership.
• Perform duties as assigned.
