Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support to deliver specialized respiratory care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternate care settings. The role blends hands-on patient care, education, and collaboration with physicians to ensure safe, coordinated outcomes outside the hospital.

Responsibilities include clinical assessments, discharge planning, and training patients and caregivers on ventilator use, with on-call duties as required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program.
• One (1) year of clinical experience with ventilator exposure or as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states served by the branch.
• CPR certification.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply advanced knowledge of respiratory equipment, ventilators, HME products, and related guidelines.
• Perform clinical assessments and reassessments, communicating findings to physicians and referral sources.
• Participate in discharge planning for ventilator-dependent patients, ensuring smooth home transitions.
• Demonstrate and instruct patients and caregivers on ventilator units and equipment use.
• Provide clinical follow-up with physicians and referral sources on patient status.
