Job summary

The City of New Orleans is seeking a Market Manager to oversee vendor relations at the French Market, screen new vendors and merchandise, and ensure compliance with market policies and standards.

You will maintain strong vendor relationships, resolve issues, and oversee the cashier’s office while assisting with cashier tasks as needed. This role requires strong administrative experience and a commitment to public service.

Qualifications

• Four years of professional administrative experience, with at least two years in vendor, booth, or retail management.
• Experience in merchandise management is preferred.
• Education verification required prior to appointment.

Responsibilities

• Screen new vendors and new merchandise with the Vendor Committee.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and vendor representatives; resolve problems.
• Oversee issuing of violation notices for non-compliant vendors.
• Report on policy and procedure changes and ensure awareness among staff and vendors.
• Supervise the Flea Market Cashier’s Office and assist with cashier duties as needed.
• Perform related duties as required.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
