Job summary

Ascent Aerospace seeks an Outsourcing Specialist to lead vendor qualification, manage supplier performance, and oversee order activities. You will maintain strong supplier relationships and partner with internal teams to ensure efficient outsourcing outcomes.

The role requires 5+ years in supplier management, manufacturing exposure, and experience with SAP and Excel. ITAR compliance and US Person status are required. Occasional travel to vendor sites is possible.

Qualifications

• Typical qualifications include 5+ years in supplier/vendor management or purchasing.
• 5+ years in a manufacturing environment with practices such as fabrication, welding, machining, bonding, fastening a plus.
• Experience dealing with suppliers from quality, purchasing, and/or development perspectives.
• Export Control compliance requirements; US Person status required.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and onboard new vendors and suppliers.
• Review vendor capabilities and plan capacity as needed.
• Request quotes and negotiate terms for outsourced goods and services.
• Plan and monitor outsourced activities to meet project timelines.
• Communicate status updates and recovery strategies with teams.
• Manage vendor/supplier lists and related files.
• Monitor and report supplier quality and delivery performance.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance on audits and corrective actions.
• Develop cost-saving measures and optimize working capital.
• Drive strategies for on-time delivery and material cost reduction.
