Job summary

Ascent Aerospace is hiring an Outsourcing Specialist to manage vendor qualification and performance, oversee order activities, and maintain strong supplier relationships. You will collaborate with internal teams to meet project timelines, drive cost reductions, and monitor supplier quality and delivery performance.

The role requires experience in manufacturing environments, strong communication skills, and knowledge of SAP and Excel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in supplier/vendor management or purchasing environment.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience dealing with suppliers from quality, purchasing, and/or development perspective.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associates or higher degree preferred.
• US Person required due to ITAR/export compliance.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and onboard new vendors and suppliers.
• Review vendor capabilities and conduct capacity planning as needed.
• Request quotes and negotiate terms for outsourced goods and services.
• Plan and monitor outsourced activities with project teams and vendors.
• Communicate status updates and recovery strategies with program, planning, and operations teams.
• Participate in vendor audits and corrective actions with Quality Assurance.
• Develop strategies for on-time delivery, cost reduction, and lead time improvements.
• Travel to vendors/suppliers as necessary.
