Job summary

Amwins is seeking a Vendor Manager to oversee vendor relationships and drive cost, quality, and compliance goals. The role focuses on aligning vendors with our growth strategy, from discovery through renewal and optimization.

Based in Charlotte, NC with a hybrid schedule (3 days in-office), you will negotiate contracts, audit invoices, collect discovery data, and coordinate with internal stakeholders to maximize value and transparency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3+ years of negotiating and contracting experience.
  • Ability to communicate and present to C-suite level.
  • 3+ years of vendor management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Execute a comprehensive strategy aligning vendors with company growth and objectives.
  • Lead contract negotiation to achieve favorable outcomes while maintaining quality and compliance.
  • Audit vendor invoices to ensure cost controls and forecast future costs.
  • Collect and document discovery information on the vendor portfolio landscape.
  • Identify and evaluate new potential vendors to add value.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for internal stakeholders on vendor initiatives.

Vendor Manager

Vendor management is a discipline that oversees and manages relationships between our company and our vendors while ensuring our expectations in terms of cost, quality, service and compliance are met. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as this role drives the foundation to provide an enterprise lens on vendor services starting from discovery efforts to align with our strategic goals.

Hybrid role (3 days in-office) based in Charlotte, NC.

Job duties:

  • Execute a comprehensive strategy aligning vendors with company’s growth and operational objectives
  • Lead contract negotiation to achieve favorable outcomes that create value without compromising quality or compliance
  • Audit select vendor invoices to ensure appropriate cost controls; pricing remains in alignment with effort and estimating future costs based on forecasting
  • Collect and document discovery information on the vendor portfolio landscape to evaluate and action leverage or consolidation opportunities
  • Identify and evaluate new potential vendors that could add value and enhance our capabilities
  • Primary point of contact for internal stakeholders on vendor-related initiatives, ensuring transparency and consistent communication
  • Build trust by fostering strong, collaborative relationships and cultivating a diverse network
  • Identifying and collaborating on continuous improvement opportunities

Preferred Skills:

  • Combination of technical knowledge, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with cross-functional teams and independently prioritize work and manage projects
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and demonstrate creative and pragmatic solutions to problem solving
  • Ability to foster strong relationships through collaboration and networking
  • Analytic rigor with ability to use data to drive decision-making and optimization
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel expertise, with the knowledge and aptitude to build well-structured workbooks and efficient formulas that produce easily repeatable deliverables.
  • Negotiation and contracting experience preferred
  • Vendor management experience preferred
  • Financial analysis preferred

  • The ability to communicate and present to C-suite level.
  • 3+ years of vendor management experience.
