Job summary

Full Steam Staffing LLC in Scotts Valley, CA is seeking an experienced Vendor Buyer to join our team. This full-time role focuses on purchasing finished branded products, managing inventory, and maintaining strong vendor relationships to secure cost-effective agreements.

You will analyze stock levels, plan purchases, negotiate pricing, and monitor POs and invoices. Proficiency with NAVision or similar ERP, and excellent communication and organizational skills are essential for success.

• 1–3 years of purchasing or procurement experience.

• Experience resolving vendor discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze daily stock alert reports to maintain inventory levels.
• Plan and schedule purchases based on inventory needs, discounts, and demand.
• Negotiate pricing, promotional discounts, and purchasing agreements with vendors.
• Maintain positive vendor relationships and identify opportunities to improve pricing, delivery, and quality.
• Investigate and resolve purchase order, invoice, and pricing discrepancies.
• Coordinate product updates and transitions between discontinued and new versions.
• Review vendor price changes and determine cost-effective purchasing strategies.
• Monitor vendor insurance documentation to ensure coverage remains current.
• Track outstanding purchase orders and follow up with vendors for timely deliveries.
• Evaluate excess inventory and coordinate returns or RAs with vendors.
• Maintain purchasing, inventory, and product data in NAVision.
• Perform administrative duties including filing, calls, and emails.
• Collaborate with internal departments and vendors to resolve purchasing concerns.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Full Steam Staffing is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Vendor Buyer to join our team in Scotts Valley, CA! The Vendor Buyer will be responsible for purchasing finished branded products, managing inventory levels, maintaining vendor relationships, and negotiating pricing to ensure cost-effective purchasing. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, along with previous purchasing or buying experience. Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

• 1 3 years of purchasing, buying, procurement, or related experience required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Experience resolving vendor discrepancies and addressing supplier performance issues.
• Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and purchasing records.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics NAV (NAVision) for purchasing, inventory management, or order planning.
• Experience analyzing purchasing data, inventory trends, and vendor performance.
• Familiarity with supplier corrective action processes.
• Ability to extract and interpret database information to support purchasing decisions.
