Job summary

Mobile Civil Service seeks skilled vehicular equipment technicians to perform maintenance and repair on a variety of equipment across county departments.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, plus an apprenticeship or trade school in automotive or diesel repair and at least one year of journeyman experience. Job description

This is skilled work in the maintenance and repair of a variety of vehicular equipment.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Graduation from a standard senior high school, or the successful completion of the General Educational Development (GED) test. And completion of an apprenticeship or trade school program in automotive or diesel repair, and a minimum of one year journeyman level experience in maintenance and repair in one of the following areas: (1) automotive/light truck/miscellaneous; (2) medium/heavy truck or (3) construction equipment; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.

• City of Mobile: $40,528 - $50,604
• Mobile Area Water and Sewer System**: $45,775 - $57,156
• City of Saraland*: $45,775 - $57,156

Special Requirement

Must possess a valid driver's license from state of residence. May be required to work overtime. The Mobile Area Water & Sewer System requires Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements, including air brake endorsement, be obtained prior to completion of the six month working test period.
