Job summary

Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector’s Office seeks Customer Service Representatives for in-office roles at Palm Center, Scarsdale, and Bay Area branches in Houston, TX. You will process vehicle titles, registrations, and related documents in the RTS system while answering customer questions and maintaining accurate records.

Required 30 wpm typing with 80% accuracy; high school diploma or GED; at least one year of customer service experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; 1+ year customer service experience preferred.
• Must pass HRT Clerical Skills Test with 30 wpm and 80% accuracy.
• Experience with vehicle registration, titling, or licensing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Examine and sort documents to determine eligibility for vehicle titles, exempt plates, and registrations.
• Process title and registration applications in RTS and maintain accurate records.
• Respond to customer inquiries in person, by phone, and via email with clear information.
• Handle payments and balance cash drawer and non-cash transactions to the exact dollar amount.
• Work onsite at Palm Center, Scarsdale, or Bay Area branches; remote work not generally available.
