Job summary

Cox is seeking a Title Processor to manage vehicle title workflows for auctioned vehicles. You will verify accuracy, determine negotiability, and resolve title issues with customers, dealers, and regulators.

The role requires attention to DMV regulations, strong communication, and experience with title processing systems. This position may involve overtime and is office-based.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED plus 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

  • Process and re-assign titles for vehicles sold by the auction.
  • Examine vehicle titles for accuracy and state conformity, verify VIN, odometer, lien releases, and no alterations.
  • Determine negotiability of title documents and report discrepancies.
  • Resolve titling issues with customers, dealers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain knowledge of DMV laws and regulations related to vehicle titles.
  • Receive and route telephone calls to appropriate personnel.
  • Perform duties such as processing sale day transactions using the AS400 and providing customer service.
  • Run and follow up on outstanding title reports and contact sellers.
  • Issue gate passes for no-sale vehicles and purchases.
  • Assist with sale day balancing activities.
  • Run 15-day title reports for consignment vehicles without titles and note status in system.
  • Assist with title and check audits.
  • Demonstrate safety commitment and participate in safety activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned; may require overtime.

Job description

Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday (8am-4:30pm), Friday (8am-2pm)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Process and re-assign titles for vehicles sold by the auction.
  • Examine vehicle title for accuracy and conformity to specified requirements. Verify acceptance of the title in the state for which it is filed. Confirm accurate title VIN number, odometer reading, releases of liens, and that titles contain no alteration, etc.
  • Determine negotiability of title document and assess for potential fraud. Report any title discrepancies.
  • Resolve titling issues through interaction with customers, dealers, and regulatory agencies. Work with manager/supervisor to negotiate price adjustment between buyer and seller for a title problem, if necessary.
  • Maintain knowledge of current DMV laws and regulations as they relate to vehicle titles and interpret titling regulations in each state for which vehicles are processed.
  • Receive and route telephone calls in a courteous and efficient manner to the appropriate personnel or department.
  • Perform other duties such as processing sale day transactions using the AS400 and providing customer service.
  • Run outstanding title reports, review, and contact sellers regarding outstanding titles.
  • Issue gate passes for no-sale vehicles and purchases.
  • Assist with sale day balancing activities.
  • Run 15-day outstanding title report for consignment vehicles sold without title. Match invoices against report and contact sellers to obtain title. Notate title status in system.
  • Assist with title and check audits.
  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • May be required to work overtime (more than 40 hours per week) as business needs dictate.


Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field.
  • OR the right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and up to 1 year of experience; OR 5 years' experience in a related field.
  • Effective communication skills required.
  • Must possess good problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer software skills required.
  • Vision abilities required include close, distance and depth perception.


Preferred:

  • Notary seals and stamps preferred.


Work Environment:

  • Office setting.


USD 20.00 - 30.00 per hour

Compensation:

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $20.00 - $30.00/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Benefits:

Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
