Job summary

ZF Group in Livonia, MI is seeking a Vehicle Technician to install and repair brake components on prototype vehicles, assist engineers with test equipment, and support demonstrations. The role includes participation in product development, maintenance tasks, and liaison with internal and external customers.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred Associate Degree in Automotive Technology and a valid license (CDL preferred).

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate Degree in Automotive Technology or Automotive Certifications preferred.
• Valid driver license required with CDL preferred.
• Solid knowledge and understanding of vehicle brake systems required.
• Basic computer and vehicle instrumentation skills required.
• Vehicle test training will be provided during orientation as well as “on the job” training including health & safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform brake component installation and repair on various prototype vehicles.
• Assist engineers during installation and transfer of test measurement equipment.
• Support customer vehicle demonstrations as required.
• Assist with delivery or procurement of winter test supplies on a limited basis.
• Interface and communicate with both internal and external customers on technical matters.
• Maintain appropriate engineering procedures throughout the product development process to achieve engineering deliverables which include cost, reliability and manufacturing objectives.
• Provide assistance with facility maintenance on a limited basis.
