Job summary

Halfords Autocentres in Stafford is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to service and repair vehicles and carry out diagnostics. You’ll undertake more complex tasks such as clutch and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas like electrics, brakes, steering and suspension.

We offer an uncapped bonus scheme with average earnings of £6,600 per year, 5.6 weeks' annual leave, staff discounts, pension and health benefits, and progression through ATA/MOT qualifications.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experience in diagnostics and complex repairs (brakes, steering, suspension, engines).

• Carry out servicing and repair/replacement work.
• Perform diagnostics including electrics, brakes, steering and suspension.
• Handle more complex tasks such as clutch and timing belt replacements.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
