Job summary

Halfords is seeking a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic at our Colchester Autocentres. You will perform servicing and repairs, with opportunities for clutch and timing belt work and diagnostics.

Candidates should hold a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or time served) and a full UK driving licence with no more than 9 points. Join us for a clear career path and uncapped bonus potential.

• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements.

Responsibilities

• Tackle more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics.
• Perform diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake, steering and suspension systems.

• Comprising a base salary of £32,790 - £38,100
• An uncapped monthly bonus scheme with average additional earnings of £6,900 per year.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You'll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
