Job summary

Hendrickson in Illinois is seeking a hands-on engineer to manage the technical aspects of a major project and/or multiple smaller projects, using the Product Planning and Development Procedure to drive delivery and production readiness.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline, with 4–6 years in vehicle structural design, experience in dynamic structural analysis and FEA, and the ability to coordinate with CAD/FEA teams, suppliers, and customers.

Qualifications

BS degree in a technical discipline required.
BSME/BSAgE/BS AeroE preferred.
4–6 years of experience in vehicle structural design.
Experience with dynamic structural analysis, FEA, fatigue analysis, and product design.
Demonstrated product innovation.
Electrical or brake experience a plus.
Exposure to or training in vehicle dynamics desirable.
Vibration and controls background desirable.
Demonstrated ability to manage a development project and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Manage all technical aspects of a major project and/or multiple smaller projects, utilizing the Product Planning and Development Procedure.
Designs, validates, provides test reports, and sign-off documents, and ensures production readiness.
Coordinates with CAD, FEA, and laboratory personnel and interfaces with other department in support of the above.
Coordinates the technical design and test aspects on projects with suppliers and customers.
Provides continuous improvement through employee development, process improvement, and elimination of waste. Helps to assure safety in the lab and office.
Other duties as assigned.
