Job summary

CFD Research Corporation is seeking a talented engineer to lead the structural analysis team. The candidate will oversee FEA-based analyses including static strength, high-speed impacts, vibrations, fatigue, and crack propagation, with Abaqus and LS-DYNA as primary tools.

Based in Huntsville, AL, this onsite role requires 10+ years FEA experience, 3+ years in leadership, and US citizenship with eligibility for a secret clearance.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship and eligibility for a secret security clearance.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 10+ years hands-on FEA experience.
• 3+ years in leadership or mentorship roles.
• Strong knowledge of linear static, dynamic, modal, fatigue, and buckling analyses.
• Proficiency in Abaqus and LS-DYNA.
• Ability to validate FEA models with hand calculations.
• Familiarity with isotropic and composite materials and fracture mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Lead a growing structural analysis team focusing on FEA work.
• Direct static, dynamic, fatigue, and buckling analyses and review results.
• Interface with Prototype and Test divisions; brief customers.
• Mentor team members and conduct performance reviews twice a year.
• Coordinate with program managers and SMEs to scope and direct work.
