Job summary

Inversion invites an internship in Vehicle Software Engineering to help build software for next-generation reentry vehicles. You will work with flight and ground software engineers to develop, test, and deploy software supporting spacecraft development, qualification, and operations.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s, master's, or doctoral degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrated software development experience via projects, teams, research, open-source contributions, or internships.
• Experience programming in C/C++, Python (and optionally Rust).
• Understanding of debugging, testing, data structures, and software design.
• Familiarity with Git, code reviews, and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Own a well-scoped software engineering project from requirements through deployment.
• Design, develop, and test software supporting spacecraft flight systems or ground ops.
• Develop and integrate software with hardware, simulators, or existing flight/ground software.
• Write automated tests and participate in SIL, HIL, PIL environments.
• Collaborate with flight software, avionics, simulation, and other teams to solve problems.
• Participate in design reviews, debugging, and integration testing.
• Document designs, test results, and software functionality; present to the team.
