Job summary

Carvana seeks a Reconditioning Manager to supervise an Inspection Center team responsible for daily operations, coaching leads and front-line associates, and driving lean manufacturing principles. The role focuses on quality, production, safety and cost objectives within a fast-paced environment.

You will mentor staff, participate in strategic plans, and ensure adherence to standards while maintaining high engagement and continuous improvement across the reconditioning process.

Qualifications

• 5 years of management experience in automotive or lean manufacturing.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience leading and developing associates.
• Proven ability to achieve project deliverables and company metrics.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record in the last 3 years.
• Ability to work overtime and on weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations within the Inspection Center.
• Provide mentoring and accountability to direct reports and succession planning through coaching, leadership development and training.
• Participate in strategic planning and ensure alignment with company objectives.
• Ensure adherence to operating standards, policies and performance standards.
• Create a positive work environment with strong team communication and Carvana values.
• Recruit, select, orient, and train supervisory staff.
• Ensure progression path training and certification processes are consistently executed.
• Train leads and associates with competency-based feedback.
• Ensure adequate production capacity levels for each line and assist with production planning.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and loss prevention guidelines.
• Provide vision and guidance to the reconditioning team to meet performance metrics.
• Lead problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
