Job summary

Carvana is seeking a Reconditioning Manager in New Jersey to supervise a team in the Inspection Center, guiding daily operations and continuous improvement initiatives. You will mentor leads and associates, drive strategic plans, ensure safety and quality standards, and align with Carvana values to deliver efficient vehicle reconditioning.

The role requires 5 years of management experience in automotive or lean environments, strong leadership, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• 5 years of management experience in automotive or lean manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience leading and developing associates.
• Proven ability to deliver projects and meet metrics.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations within the Inspection Center.
• Provide mentoring and accountability to direct reports and succession planning through coaching and training.
• Participate in the development and execution of strategic plans aligning with company goals.
• Ensure adherence to operating standards, policies, procedures and performance standards.
• Create a work environment that fosters positive communication and teamwork aligned with Carvana values.
• Maintain supervisory staff through recruitment, onboarding and training.
• Ensure progression path training and certification processes are consistently executed.
• Train and mentor leads and associates with competency-based feedback.
• Ensure adequate production capacity levels and assist with planning.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and loss-prevention guidelines.
• Provide vision and guidance to the reconditioning team in meeting performance metrics.
• Positively reinforce and engage the team regarding quality, production and cost objectives.
• Lead problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
