Job summary

Capgemini in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a Plant Modelling & Simulation Engineer for a 7-month contract to develop, validate, and maintain high-quality plant models supporting XIL, virtual validation, and system integration. Work with cross-functional teams to build scalable 0D/1D models of propulsion, chassis, ADAS, and infotainment, ensuring fidelity across concept to validation phases.

MATLAB/Simulink experience required; CI/CD and scripting skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant engineering field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in plant modeling, simulation, or V&V environments.
• Strong understanding of Model-Based Development (MBD) and virtual testing methods.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or similar modeling tools.
• Knowledge of physical system modeling (0D/1D).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and methods.
• Experience in one scripting language.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 0D/1D plant models representing physical systems (e.g., propulsion, chassis, ADAS, infotainment).
• Ensure models meet fidelity levels depending on development phase (concept, design, integration, validation).
• Perform model validation and correlation against requirements and test data.
• Support model reduction and optimization for simulation efficiency.
• Model-Based Development Support.
• Integrate plant models into XIL workflows and environments.
• Support virtual testing, requirement validation, and system verification activities.
• Collaborate with controls and system engineers to ensure alignment between plant models and control strategies.
