Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking an Equipment Operator A to support transportation, delivery, and maintenance at Delaware Valley Veterans' Home. You will drive a range of vehicles to transport residents and goods, and assist with maintenance tasks to ensure smooth daily operations.

The role requires a valid Class C Pennsylvania drivers license and at least six months of experience operating large vehicles; other experience may count toward qualification.

Qualifications

• Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle Operation: Operate passenger cars, vans, buses, and similar vehicles to transport residents and complete facility trips.
• Material Transport: Move supplies, mail, equipment, and other items through local and long-distance deliveries.
• Maintenance Work: Complete hauling tasks, operate snow removal equipment, and support general maintenance activities.
• Equipment Care: Perform safety checks, minor repairs, cleaning, and preventive maintenance on vehicles and tools.
• General Tasks: Assist with loading, unloading, record keeping, cleaning work areas, and properly using hand and power tools.
• Safety Compliance: Maintain a valid Class C license and use personal protective equipment when required.
