Job summary

Cox Automotive in Michigan is seeking an Inspector II to perform vehicle inspections, document conditions and entry data for databases. The role emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail and good communication in a hands-on environment.

On-site work with standard day shifts; base pay ranges from $15.10 to $22.69 per hour, depending on location and candidate qualifications, with potential incentive options. Pre-employment drug testing may apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field.
• OR the right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline.
• OR 5 years’ experience in a related field.
• Safe driver's needed; valid driver's license required.
• Basic computer software skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Previous body shop experience, mechanical experience, estimating experience a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Verify vehicle identification.
• Enter basic vehicle identification information to database.
• Inspect vehicle equipment and options and document results.
• Assess and database enter any exterior vehicle damage.
• Inspect and enter condition of vehicle interior, tires, frame and mechanical components.
• Complete and verify data entry in support of documentation of vehicle condition.
• Perform post sale inspections (PSI) and enter results in appropriate database.
• Perform and document walk around inspections in support of online vehicle exchange (OVE) process.
• Review completed vehicle condition reports with inspectors – confirm and provide advice regarding report results.
• Attend meetings to share and receive job related information and complete training requirements.
