Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Vehicle Feature Owner (VFO) to own the functional definition, requirements, and technical evolution of assigned vehicle features throughout the product development lifecycle.

You will collaborate with Systems Engineering, Requirements Management, Architecture, Design Engineering, Software, and Validation teams to assess feature changes, translate requirements into system-level specs, and drive issue resolution during software validation and vehicle integration.

Responsibilities

• Own the functional definition and technical intent of assigned vehicle features.
• Define feature behavior, performance expectations, operating conditions, and functional boundaries.
• Develop and maintain feature-level requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
• Ensure requirements are complete, consistent, traceable, and aligned with vehicle and program objectives.
• Serve as the technical point of contact for feature intent and expected system behavior.
• Provide clarification and interpretation of feature requirements to engineering and validation teams.
• Evaluate the technical impact of new vehicle features, feature modifications, regulatory changes.
• Determine how feature changes affect existing system requirements and vehicle functions.
• Assess downstream impacts across vehicle systems, interfaces, software, and hardware.
• Initiate and support requirement updates when changes affect feature behavior or vehicle performance.
• Provide technical justification for feature and requirement changes.
• Analyze issues identified during software validation, system integration, and vehicle-level testing.
• Work with engineering teams to understand expected versus actual feature behavior.
• Support issue reproduction, technical analysis, and root-cause investigation.
• Determine whether issues are related to requirements, system behavior, software implementation, interfaces, or feature integration.
• Recommend requirement, design, or feature changes when required.
