Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Vehicle Feature / Systems Requirements Engineer to define, analyze, and manage vehicle-level requirements across the product lifecycle. You will work with Systems Engineering, Architecture, Design, Software, Validation, and Requirements Management teams to ensure traceability and alignment with vehicle functionality.

The ideal candidate has SYS.1/SYS.2 experience and may have Vehicle Feature Owner or System Engineer background, within automotive domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in systems engineering, requirements engineering, automotive systems, or product development.
• Experience with system or software requirements development.
• Understanding of requirements decomposition and traceability.
• Experience with requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS, DOORS Next, Codebeamer, or Jama.
• Understanding of automotive development processes and system engineering principles.
• Experience working in cross‑functional engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain vehicle and system-level requirements based on feature and functional intent.
• Analyze customer, vehicle, regulatory, and program needs and translate them into clear technical requirements.
• Decompose vehicle functions and features into system-level requirements and interfaces.
• Perform requirements analysis, clarification, and impact assessment for new and modified vehicle features.
• Identify requirement gaps, conflicts, ambiguities, and inconsistencies.
• Maintain requirements traceability throughout the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Architecture, Software, Hardware, Design, and Validation teams.
• Participate in requirements reviews and support requirement approval and release activities.
• Analyze system validation issues and determine potential requirement impacts.
• Support change management and assess downstream impacts of requirement changes.
• Ensure requirements are measurable, verifiable, consistent, and technically feasible.
• Support resolution of technical issues related to vehicle functionality and system behavior.
