Job summary

City of Atlanta Careers is seeking a motivated technician to perform semi-skilled work in the operation and maintenance of city fleet vehicles and equipment. You will run diagnostic tests, process work requests, support fleet management tasks, report findings, and maintain gear such as tow trucks, forklift batteries, auto code scanners and related workshop tools.

• Prepare and process work requests; report findings.
• Assist with fleet management tasks and inventory.
• Maintain equipment such as tow trucks, forklift batteries, and auto code scanners.

General Description and Classification Standards:

Performs semi-skilled work involving the operation and maintenance of vehicles and equipment. Duties may include running diagnostic tests on vehicles, completing work requests, performing fleet management tasks, reporting, and maintaining equipment which includes tow trucks, fork lifts, battery power packs, auto code scanners, key cutters and other equipment used in the daily operation of the garage.

Works under direct supervision and follows standard procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.
