Job summary

Slate Auto seeks a hands-on Process Engineer for Vehicle Diagnostics & EOL Calibration to drive commissioning, validation, and release of End of Line processes across brake, steering, ADAS, and body controls.

You will diagnose ECU communication, perform wheel and camera alignments, and deploy calibration tools, collaborating with Manufacturing, Diagnostics, Software, Validation and Supplier teams to improve throughput and first-pass yield in a fast-paced plant environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in automotive manufacturing, vehicle diagnostics, EOL commissioning, calibration, vehicle integration, or plant support engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with CAN/CAN-FD and UDS diagnostics, troubleshooting ECU communication and network issues.
• Experience using Vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape, vFlash) and OEM/supplier diagnostic tools.
• Experience supporting vehicle calibration/commissioning (wheel alignment, steering angle calibration, brake bleed, camera/ADAS alignment, sensor initialization, ECU flashing).
• Strong understanding of automotive communication architectures, gateways, and diagnostic workflows.

Responsibilities

• Execute and support End of Line manufacturing and commissioning processes across multiple vehicle systems (brake, steering, ADAS, body controls).
• Troubleshoot ECU communication issues, gateway routing, flashing, network wake-up, and diagnostic timeouts.
• Develop and maintain plant diagnostic procedures and automated validation/calibration tools (Vector toolchains where applicable).
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Diagnostics, Software, Validation, and Supplier teams to investigate root causes and improve throughput/first-pass yield.
• Support launch activities, prototype/production builds, and validate tooling and automated EOL systems.
