Job description

"You have to understand my heart in order to understand why we've been successful" - Jeff VanderWal | Founder and President of ClearShift

Founded in 2017, ClearShift set out to change the car buying experience and chart a new path in the automotive industry. And it's working. The only way we are a part of the automotive industry is that our business deals in cars. We are in the people business.

We're experiencing tremendous growth and looking to expand the best team we've ever been a part of, in an effort to better serve the people that we get to connect with on a daily basis.

As a Vehicle Acquisition Specialist, you'll play a key role in expanding our pre-owned inventory by identifying and acquiring vehicles from various sources. You'll assist in everything from vehicle appraisals and merchandising to transport logistics and private party acquisitions. If you are detail-oriented, driven, and passionate about the automotive industry, this is the role for you.

What will a Vehicle Acquisition Specialist do?

  • Assist in coordinating vehicle transport to and from the dealership
  • Support the appraisal process for trade-ins and off-street purchases
  • Evaluate and option vehicles for reconditioning and resale
  • Identify, contact, and negotiate with private sellers for vehicle purchases
  • Collaborate with the buying team to meet acquisition targets
  • Work with merchandising to ensure vehicles are accurately listed and presented
  • Maintain detailed records of acquisitions and related documentation
  • Stay current on market trends, pricing, and sourcing channels

What makes someone a great fit for the role?

  • Previous experience in automotive appraisals, or dealership operations preferred
  • Knowledge of vehicle makes, models, market values, and evaluation tools
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Reliable transportation to and from work daily

Are you SET for success?

ClearShift operates under the core values of Servanthood, Excellence, Transparency.

What makes our team different? Our team is rooted in service. Having a heart for service is the core of our success and the success of our team and company grows from that base. Our customers come to us because they want to buy a car; we don't need to sell them a car. The goal is to move customers from wanting to buy a car to driving away in a new car as simple and seamless as possible.

Our team works alongside the owners and leaders that built the company daily. Nobody is ever asked to do something that the owners and leaders would not or have not done themselves. The voice and opinions of our team are heard and matter daily.

Be a part of moving this company to the next level.
