Job summary

GM is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to develop, validate, and release Virtual Mechatronics Control Units (vMCUs) for Software Defined Vehicle architectures in future passenger vehicles.

You will serve as the primary technical contact for model components, software images, and testing of vMCUs, and coordinate Level 4 vECU functionalities with cross-functional teams. A master's degree and hands-on ECU validation experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field
  • One year of experience as an Electrical Engineer, Validation Engineer, or related occupation
  • One year of experience validating and releasing passenger vehicle ECUs or virtual ECUs at component and system level
  • Experience using Vector CANalyzer and CANoe, Synopsys Virtualizer, Corellium, and Lauterbach Trace 32 hardware
  • Experience creating SystemC TLM2.0 models of microcontrollers, ASICs, drivers, modules, switches, timers, and transceivers
  • Experience integrating microcontroller and peripheral models into full Level 4 virtual ECUs
  • Must be able to report to the local office

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, validate, integrate, and release Virtual Mechatronics Control Units (vMCUs) for Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) architecture in future GM passenger vehicles
  • Act as the main technical contact for model components and parameters, software images, and testing and validation of vMCUs
  • Plan, test, validate, and release vECU Level 4 model task functionalities and periodicities
  • Work with RTOS, CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, UDP, TCP, SPI, and UART protocols
