Job summary

The Amatriot Group in Key West, FL is seeking a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Administrator to join our on-site team. You will manage and optimize VDI environments, coordinate with IT and security to ensure patching and compliance, and collaborate with customers to deliver tailored solutions.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years IT experience with VDI, strong Windows Server and AD knowledge, and hands-on VMware Horizon and Citrix experience. This role is on-site five days a week in Key West.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of direct experience supporting VDI environments.
• 10+ years of overall IT experience in system administration or related technical roles.
• Experience with VMware Horizon, Citrix, or other major VDI solutions; strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and networking fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems.
• Work side-by-side with the engineer to maintain and deploy VDI thin clients.
• Work directly with SCCM/MECM to ensure patching/security compliance is handled and with the Service Desk department to troubleshoot issues with the hardware/software.
• Keeping master image and pools update and secured; implement patches, updates, and configuration changes in coordination with cybersecurity and IT teams.
• Interface with the customer, gathering requirements and delivering solutions.
• Troubleshoot VDI-related issues, including user access, performance, connectivity, and software compatibility.
• Monitor system performance and usage to identify bottlenecks or failure points and recommend improvements.

Position Overview

Amatriot seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Administrator to join our team in Key West, FL. This position is on-site 5 days a week.

  • High School Diploma and 4 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required bachelor’s degree
  • Associate’s degree and 2 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required bachelor’s degree
  • A master’s degree is equivalent to an additional 2 years of experience and a PhD is equivalent to an additional 4 years of experience
• 5+ years of direct experience supporting VDI environments
• 10+ years of overall IT experience in system administration or related technical roles
• Experience with VMware Horizon, Citrix, or other major VDI solutions. Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and networking fundamentals

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
• FSLogix and/or HorizonView Client experience preferred
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Citrix Certified Associate (CCA-V), or related certification.
